Thomas Cook update

The Not Just Travel team along with the entire travel industry is behind Thomas Cook 100%. We are very hopeful that the current situation will come to a resolution in the coming days.

If the takeover by Fosun happens, this will be great for the brand as it brings new life and experience to Thomas Cook. Fosun also own Club Med which has seen huge success and growth under its ownership.

Thomas Cook is a British institution. It’s what the UK travel industry was built on and we are huge supporters of its products, brand and people. As a travel agency we send thousands of customers on Thomas Cook holidays every year.

We will be keeping a close eye on this situation and we will provide you with updates as and when they are released.

We would also like to reiterate that as a consumer in the UK, that we have one of the best levels of consumer protection for travellers thanks to Not Just Travel being ATOL protected. Rest assured that your booking would be protected as a result of the Thomas Cook rescue deal not going through.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH MY BOOKING?

If you are away on a Thomas Cook holiday

The CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) has a duty to ensure all passengers are returned home to the UK at the end of your holiday so don’t panic. Please ensure that you have your ATOL Certificate with you. If you incur any additional costs due to this situation then make sure you keep all of your receipts as you may be able to claim for these through your travel insurance or through the CAA.

If you have a Thomas Cook holiday booked

If you have booked a Thomas Cook package holiday that takes place after the time of a potential collapse, you will be financially protected under the ATOL Scheme. You will be issued with a refund for the cost of your holiday.

If your booking is with Not Just Travel, we will assist you with finding a replacement holiday and will assist you through the re-booking process.
